If you're looking for a 5*, pristinely clean, adult only & extremely dog friendly touring park in a stunningly beautiful, tranquil location in Powys, mid Wales, this place will be hard to beat.

59 good sized pitches each with it's own service bollard providing a T.V. aerial point, e.h.u. fresh water & grey drainage & free wifi too.

Genuinely warm & friendly, knowledgeable & informative wardens, small shop in with reception, state of the art showers & w.c. block, dog wash etc.

Half an hours safe stroll into nearby Llanidloes town which has plenty of pubs, restaurants, shops etc.

Looks nice but I wonder what % of people on here would pay £29 a night or £32 on bank holidays. Not knocking the site at all.

looks stunning, must have cost a small fortune to set it up to that standard which is reflected in the price, which for you get doesn't really seem expensive, wouldn't mind a few days there myself..:)

As is always the case, some will & some won't . . we however, were very content to pay £93 for our last 3 nights ( which included yesterday b.h. Monday ) & judging by the full occupancy, including many foreign plated Moho's, 58 others were content with the cost too.

I was not knocking the site at all . I know fun is not the only section of motorhoming in the country. I genuinly wondered the % of people who would pay that.

    Fair enough. (y)

To us it's cheap, compared to at least £100 per night in a 4*/ 5* dog friendly hotel that is invariably not exactly where we want to be.

Dol Llys campsite, also in Llanidloes is a bit cheaper and quite good, but you get kids there, so not as quiet. Might be considered as an alternative.

I looked at Red Kite and it does look rather good

I must admit I wonder at the prices of all sorts of things and think how many people pay that. They must do or they would not be in business, be it camp sites or wedding dresses there are people who have it and those that don’t.

The owner of this touring park has operated the nearby static caravan park for the last 22 years, so I guess they are doing well.

Worth adding that it is close to the source of both the Severn and wye. There are well marked well surfaced walks to both. Not too soggy despite being Borland at top. But take a coat!

Stayed there while visiting a friend in Llanidloes a couple of years ago, not long after it opened. Great site, but not cheap, and its quite a steep walk uphill all the way back from Llanidloes!

We stayed there over Easter, the site is great. Fantastic views, great facilities. Excellent walking into the village and surrounding area. And the best dog washing facilities bar none.

One of the best sites we have been to so far.

Just back from a couple of days at Red Kite. Best site I have seen so far and great facilities for dogs...dog showers and the walking areas. Pitch sizes are very generous.
