Hoping to jump into spain tomorrow and head kinda towards Mercia .
Currently sat near Urrugne and not looking to spend too many hours each day on the road but can't find many options available at the mo .
Any advice would be much appreciated.

They won't give us recommendations though .
Having stayed on a couple of dives recently and a couple that had no facilities despite clearly stating online that they have i'm hoping for some recent real life experience might turn up better results.

We loved Camping l’orangerie at Calig near Peniscola. A little inland but it is lovely, French owned and run so a little different in a good way. We were there in March 2018 and weather was good which helps.
Can use ACSI discount card if you have one

Further north, there are sone recommendations for sites near Barcelona on this thread
We have stayed at Camping Villanova and found it a bit big for our liking but well run and a bus service to Barcelona.

Maybe i'm a snob but a lot of the 'sites' we have found are more 'stop overs' like dossing in car parks rather proper campsites ....is this how it is ?

Horses for course’s.
I prefer to just stop over, don’t require anything as we carry all we need.
p4n does have reviews, and I am sure Campercontact does as well.
Smart phones also translate the review, sometimes quite hilarious, and sometimes quite petty.

Plenty of Park4Night Camperstops if it's just pulling up, sleeping and leaving the next morning...with the interior being cool right now, then this might be all you need.
Regarding Murcia...this is certainly not a big region, however it's quite varied....the coastal sites are filling up now..but they haven't reached capacity yet....but will in many locations...Safe Travels..

Another vote for Camping l’orangerie at Calig near Peniscola - beautiful site.

Here are a couple of other sites which are at the top of our favourites list - not sure if you're heading that way or not.

All info is very much welcomed thank you . As the username suggests we're just winging it , nothing set in stone other than to find some warmth .
We're starting to appreciate just how popular the good sites on the coast are gonna get and may need to get something booked asap for Christmas/ new year period.

We too prefer stop overs to campsites. Usually they are nearer the town or attraction we want to visit and you can just pull in, find a space and put the kettle on. That’s why I don’t have many to recommend.

In all jest…. Your a snob..😂 and for you to just “winging it” you’ll have to drop that word…😉

Most just use these Aires for a stop over on there way down, but there are some lovely towns and villages connected to the Aires to wander around for a bit of a break if your in no hurry, but mainly it’s just a park up as days are too short and cold to get the best out of sites to enjoy…😎

Here is a stop near Valencia posted by royandsharont

Camping Altomira at Navajas just off the motorway north of Valencia would fit the bill. It’s on an old narrow gauge disused railway with safe cycling and walking. Quiet village with some interesting villas from days gone by and a restaurant on site if you want it. ACSI too

No and no! Here’s a picture of us there, pre-covid, back in October 2019. The city is fantastic, but the parking doesn’t sound like what you’re after.
We have been tighter - were squeezed into the overflow camping at Freiburg on the way down, could only just open the door and were still charged €16 for the pleasure…

I think the gaffer is just desperate to get to the coast now if i'm honest ...i'll just be glad to not be driving every day

Not made it to the coast yet but only a short distance from Tarragona tonight .
So villanova could be on the cards for the weekend (y)
Does the bus to Barcelona allow dogs by any chance?
Will head down from there .

As far as I remember, the bus stop is outside and it is a public bus. I found this but dont know if official and up to date or if it applies to out of town buses.

In Barcelona's metro and bus, networks travel with one dog per person is allowed. All dogs on the metro and bus areas must WEAR A MUZZLE. They also must be kept on a non-extending lead and remain within 50 cm of the handler.28 Apr 2021

We are at Villanova at the moment. One of our favourite sites for this time of year although it is huge. Bus into local town every half hour and to Barcelona six times a day but dogs not allowed on either I believe. It’s a very well maintained site with hot showers and good facilities and a good restaurant/bar. Town and beach lovely too although a bit of a walk from the campsite. Good for a stopover for you though if you want a rest in the sun for a day or two?
