Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a Motorhome Repairer around the Lincoln area please?

I need to get someone to assess and repair damage to the roof of my RV.

Cheers Steve.

Morning Steve

We've just had a habitation check carried out by CamperUK in Lincoln (01522 697070), and very pleased with their service :thumb:

Not sure if they look after RVs, quite a small site and tight entrance.

May be worth calling them, and seeing if they can recommend anyone?

Cheers Di

That's Brilliant Di. I'll give them a bell.

Thanks JSW but I'm worried the ply skin will delaminate and cause structural problems.

The walls of the RV are quite thick, consisting of a ply sandwich filled with high density foam which seemes very strong. To remove and reconstruct the roof is a massive job and it's finding the time that is my problem.

I guess it's obtaining the proper materials that is the daunting part.

The good thing is , she's in a secure Barn and dry so I can look at it a bit more thoroughly without having to worry about any more rain affecting it.:thumb:

Steve.

PS How's SPAIN?

Wish I was there right now.

We can recommend Shires from personal experience - they have replaced the whole roof on our Georgie Boy Cruisemaster, and they did a super job. We had the work done in Gloucester, but also have a base in Leamington Spa. The roof is much stronger than it was before, and the satellite dish is much more firmly based :BigGrin:

If you want contact details send us a pm and we'll give you phone numbers etc tomorrow.

Bob and Di

Thanks Bob and Di.I make that approx 93 miles which is do-able.

I was hoping for somewhere a bit closer but I will PM you tomorrow for details.

I find it usually pays to go to a dealer on a recommendation of good service.

Cheers:thumb:

Those links are brilliant JSW.

That, and the links for EPDM Suppliers from Pat (Ruffinitsmoothly) make this repair a lot more feaseable.

Hi Steve

Yes, the company in Lincoln does have suitable cover, but looks like you've lots of other options now.

Anyway, good luck, and hope it's sorted for you soon.

Regards

Di

Many thanks Di.

If they've got the covered workshop space they may well be the people to see.

Now I have the name of a supplier of the relevent materials, I can point them in their direction.

Thanks for the great advice re the dealer and I'll contact them to get an insurance assessment done.:thumb:

I have emailed their workshop manager now Di.:thumb:

Thanks

Sounds like you're sorted now, but I can recommend Horton's in Bloxwich (yes I know, not v. near lincoln) who do a lot of work for Travelworld (or at least did last I heard).

Cheers Des,

I thought it was sorted too.The bad news is, I got an email back from CamperUK in Lincoln stating they don't touch American Vehicles.

Will keep on trying.

Many thanks for the link and recommendation.:thumb:
