Hi All

While on our 8 week tour of Scotland we were rolled into by a car while parked in the Arisaig area.
The damage on our van is very slight (a little crack on the front bumper) and we were tempted to let it go rather than have all the hassle insurers bring- particularly as we still had 7 weeks to go.

Anyway we returned home thursday to find a letter from direct line who insure the gentlemans car.
The letter accepts all blame and is offering to fix any damage.
So now the incident is on an insurance database we thought we might as well let them pay.
Direct Line have come back to us today to offer to fix it in Glasgow - we live near Chelmsford

They have suggested as an alternative - namely that we identify a repairer and get a quote from them for approval by direct line.
So....we have no idea who can do this and would appreciate any recommendations people have

Its a 7.2 metre 4.2 Tonne Burstner coachbuilt- so effectively a Fiat Ducati van front 2008

Many thanks in anticipation

John

As it’s front bumper any car body shop should be able to assist. On insurance they will usually replace the complete unit and respray.

Advise your insurers of the incident and include that it’s not a claim and your advising them for information only.

I’ve used https://motorhomebumpers.com/our-products/ on Canvey for repairs to my rear motorhome bumper very successfully. But yours being a front Fiat part should be fixable at any body shop.

Thank you for the recommendation

That’s a bugger John. Do you have any uninsured losses insurance? If you do, you can claim for the expenses involved in taking the van for estimates and also for the impact on your insurance policies for the next few years

Cheers
