enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
I know it's a large area of 'spread' but we're at the point we could go left or right .....

We want to get settled into a site for Sun/Mon so we can pay our respects albeit at a distance. Happy to consider Aires but we need to be able to stay for a couple of nights. Thanks in advance

Brilliant Aire at Collioure , and if it's open you can park right on the beach canet plage, there are barriers part of the year but they open them about now.
We are heading for them this week.

Thanks, is there any way of checking it's 'open', we might head there on Sunday if it is. Is it ok for a couple of nights there? The alternative for us to be able to follow the ceremony is to book a campsite.

Collioure is bound to be open, last time we were there it was 12 euros including a free shuttle into town every hour, all tarmac and free water.

The one I'm on about is this one but wow it's gone up to 20 euros now.

thanks, though it might be a little too far south for us though ....

we are happy to pay for somewhere for a couple of nights, but would like it to be somewhere nice, a small family run campsite would be ideal ..

The D914 from Collioure is not for the faint-hearted. I did it in a car many years ago and I saw several wrecks down in ravines where people had been going too fast for the tight bends.

€12 per night, extra for electricity (which we don't need!

Le Barcares (port)

Loads of space, great views over the boats moored in the marina sandy gravel, flat parking, a couple of pine trees for shade but would prob be an issue if it's very hot. Thankfully there's a great breeze blowing! Not sure I would want to spend more than a day or two here.

We stayed on this one in late June. Despite a good hundred places for cars and some motorhome dedicated spaces, there were only ever a couple of cars and 3-4 vans. We parked up next to the water tap, inexhaustible! It says the electric is on for 2 hours, it was on nonstop for 2 days when we were there. Barrier in and out, card payment, CCTV.
It’s a good walk down into the town, 15mins, but 30 back up!

There’s a vast aire at Gruissan, minimal facilities but a short walk to restaurants etc.

There are campsites at Serignan Plage, near a naturist beach, but I don’t know when they finish.

We have pitched up at Camping la Mer, Agde, just south West of Montpellier on the Mediterranean. Lovely site, 5 min walk from a fabulous beach. Has a small bar and food, last night there was a guy strumming classical Spanish Guitar. Pretty full, would be worth booking ahead, €16 with ACSI.

Camping Les Criques de Porteils - https://www.lescriques.fr/ - is just outside Collioure and is an impressive 5-star campsite overlooking the sea and with its own private beach. It's an ACSI site and the charge is currently €22, which in my book is good value for the quality of the facilities and the location. (y)

Large Aire at Gruissan, South East of Narbonne. You will be able to get in at this time of the year. Water and dumps but no EHU. Normally enough space to sit out and relax. Right on the Mediterranean and a short walk to the nice old town with lots of restaurants. As you walk up to the town visit the Cave Cooperative, got some nice wines and you can buy it by the litre.

We liked Camping Cala Gogo at St Cyprien. Large site and not cheap but right on the beach, and it gets ACSI discount.

Spooky, just read your message as I'm sat in the sun on the very same Aire, but my god is it packed, but there is still space for another twenty I reckon? We were lucky enough to get a place near the sea!

€9 per night, so more than half the price of the campsite we were considering
