Chausson Suite Maxi
I was trying to instal some new wiring on the Chausson over the weekend. I noticed a big patch of wet rot on the nearside rear corner. As it happened it started to rain whilst I was under there and I noticed that a lot of rainwater was running down the back panel and dripping (flowing) off this area. It is obviously a long-standing problem with poorly routed rainwater, the other side doesn't have a problem.

Anyway, as the MH is still under the seller's no-quibble warranty I could do with a recommendation for someone who could do the repair for me.

I live out of the van mid-week, so I could do with finding something close to Didsbury/Stockport so I don't have too much hassle getting it to the repairers. I'm assuming that I am going to need more of a specialist than just a garage?

Any help or pointers gratefully received.

That's a bind as it usually needs more extensive work than it seems at first sight and yes, it is a rather specialist and often very costly job.
I don't know anyone in your area but presumably you have discussed it and had the agreement of the seller for repairs in which case I'm surprised he hasn't suggested one.

They are down on the South Coast, first job is to get an assessment of what needs doing, which I will need to get done locally. Hopefully, they will then agree with wherever I have taken it a price and let them do the job rather than me having to drive it 300miles and not have it for however long...

Maybe a motorhome or caravan dealer would suggest somewhere within a reasonable distance from you?

There are quite a few in Yorkshire if you Google:

Motorhome body repairer Yorkshire.

Try these people. They have sorted a delaminated floor I had in a caravan.

It’s not exactly South Manchester but another vote for Crossleys. They also sorted out a delaminated floor for me. A quick look in the workshop tells you they know what they are doing.

Not too far and an exceptional company to deal with -Cannock Resprays, Stafford.
Did an excellent repair after we were side swiped by a lorry in Morocco and also major damp repair in a friend of ours Autotrail.
