Don't forget that a Flair has a taller garage than many, an SH300 is just a bit too tall for our Arto, whereas our Aprilia 300 will go in...just.

Jon
If I had the SH300 it would be way too fast for shorts and T shirt OK many will say a 125 is as well but I can do 40 on a pedal cycle in just Lycra.

And yes it is a bit bigger, the SH125 goes in our garage with mirrors and top box and straight into a “rock n roll” front wheel chock.

We use a Vespa 300GTS. Weight is 165kg and with the mirrors and topbox removed it's not too high to get in the garage. Happily keeps up with traffic two up.

I’ve had a SH 300 which is an awesome scoot but I chose a sh125i for my MH , having just done 600miles in France on it , I found it way fast enough & was glad I didn’t go with the sh300 , the SH 125 is 35kg lighter and does 30mpg more , the rite scoot for the job for me ,

Can anyone tell me what the head height of a SH 125 is without the mirrors attached as I am thinking it might just fit in my garage on a Benimar Tesoro 483. Thanks in anticipation ?, oh yes and the distance of the handlebar grip ends?

1200mm high , might be slightly less as I measured it was in the stand ( not inc mirrors) & 700mm wide at grips

?
That’s a shame as my opening is just 1040 high by 680 wide. I could swivel the handle bars and depress the front suspension but maybe not as much as 160mm. Thanks for letting me know in advance.

Dont forget as the front wheel goes through door it usually drops down before handlebars get to doorway. Also the bike is on a ramp so back of bike is lower than the front. This lowers slightly the handlebars. Result is not the full height of the bike, measured on level ground, is required for the door.
Once in the ceiling is usually above the top of the door.
Its not a lot but does make a significant difference.

Plenty of room once through the hatch! Only solution is to try it! I might do a visit to a showroom with Motorhome in the not too distant future

what about the pcx125 or the vision110 ?

they might fit in , the vision is only 110cc but would probably be fine depending how far you want to travel in a day & at just over 100kg all is all good , after using my sh125 in Europe I’m sure the vision would have been ok

Think you might struggle with the opening width. Not only do you need to get the handlebar through, you also need to get yourself through to support the bike before it's secured into position.

Also, check your payload, especially if it's based on the 3500kg chassis. A Honda SH125i (136kg) will add something like 170kg to your rear axle. Suggest you visit a weighbridge, in touring trim, to check how much spare capacity you have on the rear axle.

Thank you for the various replies. I have up to 160kg capacity for my garage and was thinking that I would put a support track in if I did go down this route. Might revert to trailer. Kenny thank you for the other bike specs

I wouldn't buy another 110cc Vision. Yes they are a bit lighter but it's 8bhp is pathetic trying to pull 2 people up hill.
I'll get the SH125 mode next, it's a cheaper more basic version of the SH125i ?

But you've measured it on the centre stand. Probably less when both wheels are on the ground.

fair point , so got the wife to help me measure as she’s now home from work
It’s amazing what happens when a woman gives a hand ( an extra 30mm ) lol

on the stand is 1170mm and off the stand is 1150mm ( hope this helps )

Are you really bothered about mpg on a scooter? I've no idea how much our 300cc uses but I don't spend much time putting petrol in it.

We fit a Honda PCX125 into the garage of the Carthago. We use a Thule Carry Moto and tie- down ratchet straps. The garage door is 113 cm . You have to remove the mirrors off the scooter but it’s only a two minute job.
