Sure a lot of you know this aired but this was the first time we used it one of the best we have used good parking 5 min walk to lovely fortress town with good cheap bars and restaurants 6 beers for 8 euros this aire overlooks the marina ( unfortunately no facilities ) but only 20 mins to tunnel would definitely recommend

( unfortunately no facilities )

Motorhome service facilities, water and dumping, are 1km .. 2 min drive, they are signposted..
If I recall correctly you need 1€ for 100L of water

we have also used it many times with no problems, but just be aware there have been a few reports of thieves trying to steal bikes and break into vans. .. just take the usual precautions.. as you should do on any aire.

It's fine if it's en route i.e. if you're going to or returning from Northern France or Belgium. It's not worth detouring to use it though.

We found that once we'd been there a couple of times we were thoroughly bored of the place.

There are services by the way, there's a separate service point about a mile away if you really need it.

20 minutes to the tunnel is fantasy whatever Google Maps says. I think anyone in a large vehicle will be doing well to do it in less than 30 minutes.

yes..
and if you have bikes, there is safe cycle path down both sides of the river to the beach..

Gravelines is not a destination.. but makes nice break for a couple of days before coming home .. one of the better aires..

Last year by popular demand we went to Cite Europe for the last night, free parking but it cost me a fortune..

Gravelines is our fist stop and usually our last. Very nice town with good selection of restaurants and bars and a decent market too. Plenty of pleasant walks around the town and further if you wish. Nice outlook from Aire watching the boats go by and free WiFi Easy access to Supermarkets which are nearby and all within 30 mins if the tunnel. What more could you ask for.

We sometimes have a night or two at Gravelines at the end of our holiday, then nip across to Citie Europe for one night and an early tunnel crossing home the next morning.

the last of my three photos was at the xmas market a couple of years ago, excelent market all snow and animals and braziers and drinks, as good as any others we have been to , not all tat.
if anyone is interested in the bars , the pmu bar in town is very welcoming to english, all shake hands and speak to you when you go in , and they genuinely seem remember us as we go in, you can do the lotto and buy fags and watch the racing on the tv, we watched a football game in there when france were playing once , all good humeured, and they also do coffee.
hope very much to be in there sunday night for the start of this years tour(y););):)
