Hello fellow Funsters.

A bit of news from travellers who have made it to Alannia Costa Blanca over the last few days.

We crossed via the Tunnel and drove down through France and northern Spain. I used to sail but nerve damage in my legs and balance issues causes mal de mer.

Check in at Tunnel was first window Police officer who wanted a little chat and said he was envious. The second window was UK Border Force who scanned the passports and looked at us to check they were ours. Next was a chap in a kiosk that asked is we had gas. We were then directed to channel 1 for checks. A chap asked if the cylinders were turned off and then to light to gas rings to prove it. After a few seconds they went out. Next was French Doune were the scanned and stamped our passports. Basically that was it. On the train, travel, off again and within 800 mts onto the motorway. As you exit the Tunnel compound there is a service area on the left.

Friends that took the Santander crossing last Friday (6th) had a torrid time through Biscay but survived. Others who went on the Tuesday crossing (delayed 24 hours because of bad weather) faired better but reported delays after docking as the crew of the Galicia could not get the bow doors open (cheap Chinese c##p) the were held up further by Spanish Police who took custody of a migrant that had been found in a truck at Portsmouth and returned. The Santander travellers reported vehicles being pulled over and checked by Spanish Guardia Civil.

This may answer for some questions for concerned travellers.
