Anyone heading to the Camargue, now is the perfect time - a decent aire at Salin-de-Giraud (it's in the Aire book) where the salt is recovered from the massive evaporation lakes - well worth a visit and there's dramatic free parking further out at the sea at Plage de Piemanson. Loads of flamingos too. Another great free spot is at the end of the road to the Phare de la Gacholle, keep going to the very end of the road and you'll be 300 mtrs fem the lighthouse. They have strong magnification binocs there to watch the wildlife with. Lighthouse keeper even gave us a glass of wine each!!! Bird lovers should go there!!! We're still crawling through this beautiful country and loving. I've stuck the blog thingy below in case anyone's interested or missed the latest one...
