Since before Motorhomefun
Brian James just gave me some elastic bands.

Works fine on the existing plate.

they work a treat but i lost a plate using them.

you need to file a notch in the top and bottom of the plate to correspond with the clips otherwise the plate will vibrate off the end of the clips.

i also fitted a short wire to the trailer with a minuture dog clip at the other end and a hole in the plate....if it does come off you dont loose it.

My solution?

I removed car number plate and drilled two more holes in it an mounted 2 number plate bolts pushed through from the back.

Re-installed plate on car so I now have two studs protruding slightly.

I mount the trailer number plate on these studs and secure with two small nuts.

Remove two nuts by hand, remove toad plate, store nuts back on studs.

These ebay ones are the same as the caratow ones except caratow charge £12 rather than £8.99 :Eeek:

Toad car I bought the other day with a van had those spring clips on, never moved in 200 miles getting back to Robertsbridge!

Came back home in the toad!
