Absolute beginners.
Hello, I wondered if anyone knows where I can obtain one of the special tools that clip over the rear round lights on the "Hymer/ Sunlight " stable of motor homes with moulded panel?
I have had them out, but they are a bit flimsy, and only anchored to the moulded panel by the tiniest screw hole cast into the panel.
The tool looks to be just a "U" shaped piece of metal that clips over the lenses and allows a straight on the light fitting.
Trying to lever them out with screwdrivers is a fraught affair as the gap between the moulding and the lenses tends to have all the muck and dust sucked into it.
Regards.
Mike

There is a special tool for removing glass from camera lenses that may be useful. Just search for "lens removal tool" on eBay or Amazon. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I see where your going with that, but they would lend themselves more to a winding action, rather than a pulling action.

Thank you, it was missing off our van, and they seem to be as rare as rocking horse pooh.
I'm hoping the proper tool will make the lenses removal a less stressful operation.

If they are the Jokon branded round rear lights this may help.

You remove the complete light unit from the rear of the panel, not the front.

Push a flat screwdriver into the recess at the base of the light.

Gently prise the bottom of the light unit out whilst pulling in a downward movement on the top of the light.

The complete unit will now pull away from the rear panel.

Refitting is simply the reversal of the removal.

Hope this helps.
