My father's motorhome, based on a 1997 Renault Traffic 1400D needs a replacement axle. Does anyone have any idea where he can find one? His garage hasn't had any luck to date. Many thanks

Is there a Renault forum like there is a Fiat forum ?
The Fiat one has some very helpful members who usually are able to offer assistance

It might well be worth investigating whether the axle from a Citroen or a Fiat van might fit. I think they share a lot of parts.
A Renault Trafic is the same as Vauxhall Vivaro and Nissan Primastar..... I believe!!

Have you contacted breakers?

10 seconds on Google brings this match up............and there'll probably be others if you want to take the time to look.

Just curious as to what the problem is with your Dad's axle (I am a nosey begger tho !) ?
The one on my '05 Master is basically just a piece of pipe, not a lot to go wrong ?
I had a quick look on French ebay and there were a couple of vans being broken and they mentioned postage to Royame Uni ?

Thanks for the response. I'm not wholly sure as they live in Sussex and we are in York. But it sounds as if the bearing went when they were driving and ended up destroying the axle?? To be honest I'm going on what my Dad has told me the garage has said.... French ebay might be a good option.

Also many thanks to others that have responded; much appreciated

Not sure a Citreon relay is compatible to renault trafic.?
Indeed. My point really was that the best chance to get one for a vehicle of that age was to look at getting one from a breaker. Although as previously mentioned it's usually bearings and seals that wear rather than the axle structure.
I'm also in Sussex and use Bridges breakers which have a vast range of parts.

I would just put ‘van dismantlers ‘ into google and work forward from there. It shouldn’t be difficult to source one.
Ring them with vehicle details as opposed to filling out a search form
