I know this has been covered before but cannot for the life of me find it. I am using Infranview and need to reduce the file size of photos. I go to resize reduce the pixels size but the file size still remains the same ie. 313kb they are JPG images what is stupid doing wrong.

 Hi Sweet Chariot. The easiest way is to use the PAINT program.

It usually goes like this:-
Click Start
All programs
Accessories
Paint.

In the program Paint, click File at the top left corner.
Open - Choose the photo you want to edit.
Once the photo is loaded:-

Change the Horizontal % and Vertical % to a suitable size.
If it is TOO small or still too big? Click Edit and Redo.
Repeat until you are happy with the size you want.
Then File, Save as (make a new name for the photo and make sure it is JPEG)

Job done. :winky:

The simplest by far is to goggle "power toys for windows"

down the list you will see photo re sizer, click to down load ( a very small file) then when you right click any photo in your picture folder you will see in the drop down box the opportunity to re size, to any size you like by using the custom option you can then select to keep the original and make a small copy or re size the original
Its so simple even I can use it :ROFLMAO:
