Does anyone have any idea why my RDS radio (Kenwood DPX-7000DAB) is showing UK time in France (Picardy)? I'm listening to a French FM station. I've tried moving it forward an hour but it moves itself back.I know I could set it to manual but that would be admitting defeat. I can't find anything in the manual about time zones etc.

Perhaps the French station doesn't broadcast a time sync signal ?
Or if they do, its on a different frequency to the Brit way ?

The time in Paris now is 22:50.
But France has 12 time zones.

Just checked and it's the same time in Picardy too.

Is the time signal commercial radio station dependant ?
My watch receives a time signal but can't receive commercial radio transmissions.
I thought it was an independent signal transmitted via radio masts.

I think my Aldi radio controlled clock receives its sync signal from Germany... perhaps it over shoots France :D2.

The signal must be broadcast station's transmitters surely

The time contained in RDS radio information is nothing to do with the time signal transmitted by places like Anthorn in England (used to be Rugby) and Frankfurt in Germany and received by some clocks and watches etc.

Anyway, I've admitted defeat and turned off the time sync.

We bought a cuckoo clock (yes you have to) in Germany with a time-syncing feature built in. Keeps excellent time here in the UK, but the number of "cuckoo calls" always deferrs to one hour out, even when I reset it. And I can't stop it doing it! Driving me...................................
