My previous PVC was insulated...in name only. Yes it had insulation, stick on foam which fitted some of the panel skin, but not all by a long way. I spent about £100 insulating it to a higher standard.

Whatever insulation you fit, the end result is about as effective as a single skin of brickwork. You still need to chuck in a lot of energy via the heater to stay warm.
We have a Rapido V68 and have always assumed there is some insulation in the doors, but I've never checked. Before I rip the panel off the back, does anyone know whether the Rapido V68 (or Rapido Vans in general) have insulation in them?
Regards,
Mike
We have a Rapido V68 and have always assumed there is some insulation in the doors, but I've never checked.
We've been in some pretty cold conditions and not noticed particular cold spots or condensation on the inside of the doors.
Rightly or wrongly, I have a pretty high level of confidence concerning Rapido design and build quality, which includes dedicated ski storage in the V68 (ie serious consideration has been given to cold weather use).
Checked yesterday and we have but minimal, bought some recycled plastic insulation from b&q and at some time will top up the doors with this. MikeEasy to check Mike if you’ve got the same pop out fasteners as ours.
I'm amazed there is no or minimal insulation. And more importantly what about a vapour barrier? I'm following a number of van builds in YT and they are all doing a far better job in that case
When we had our PVC we had a large insulated cover that clipped on to the inside of the back doors, similar to the windscreen covers but inside and it made a massive difference.
Have you got a link for the thermal screen material please.I've got a coach built and the hab seems well insulated.
The cab however I assume has no insulation and was always much colder than the hab even with thermal screens covering al the glass.
I bought some thermal screen material and made a curtain that separates the cab from the hab.
It has reduced my heating by about a third.
Ours wasn’t attached to the doors it was attached to the internal of the van with poppers, the bottom had two zips so you could access the garage area without exposing the inside. It came as part of the factory option winter kit.You can buy these now, fitted using magnets. £269.….
