Begun travelling the road in our first van in 2013
We've broken the shower tray waste fitting in our Rapido 7099 (2007 reg). The plastic gave up the ghost when I stepped on to the top of the fitting and just broke the pretty bit in the middle clean off. The fitting literally pulls straight out of the waste water hole so changing it is a doddle, IF, we can find a replacement fitting. Anyone got any clever ideas where we might find a source of this particular part please?

looks very much like a Dealer only part , Wokingham Motorhomes or Highbridge Caravans may be able to assist.

It looks the same as ours in a Rapido also, try Brownhills in Newark but be prepared for a shock when you get the quote.
Cheers

The exact replacement could be a problem but there is this one.......

Stealaway thanks for that, but nope, too much aggro to fit. The original insert just pushes in and simply pulls out for ease of cleaning. Really do need to find a replacement that's a match.

Wokingham Motorhomes can supply me the part, so thanks everyone for your input. I'll close this thread off now to prevent continued chatter. Cost was £31.00 including postage .... :D

Perhaps I won't close the thread then .... can't see how to do that :roflmto:

You can't close a thread. I shall avoid treading on mine £31 is a rip off, though hardly surprising.

May be helpful to hear the out come if self fitted , others who are not so confident at DIY may
decide this could be something they maybe able to tackle.

Yup, £31.00 is a bit stiff but that’s the market forces in play. They can get one, I can’t, so I need to put my big boy pants on and pay the price being asked. On the plus side our van moves a step closer to being back to original fit-out/spec which pleases me in a satisfying way ?

Sunlover comes from Buckinghamshire they have deep pockets there ????

There’s really no DIY involved. The chrome piece pulls out and the cylindrical insert (the water trap) just sits beneath. It takes about 10 sec to remove in order to clear hair/detritus. Glad you found a replacement Sunlovers

Sunlovers, our Rapido has latticed plywood duckboards over the shower and bathroom floor, so it’s not possible to step on the drain fixing. I’m not sure where you’d get one, but it might be worth casting about?

Ahh, we have since P/X'd our much loved 7099F and now possess a Carthago C-Tourer ... this one has no duck board to stand on, but it does have TWO drain outlets to let the water run away. Twice as much opportunity to stand on the caps and break them then!

Ach sorry! I missed the date of the post!

I suppose you could always stand on one foot in the shower, thus halving the risk? ;)
