a class
Unfortunately I have to replace my windscreen as I now have a large crack across it !!
I realise this isn’t a regular straightforward job but does anyone know of anyone out with the obvious auto glass , national windscreens etc that could quite a reasonably or better still know how to source second replacement windscreen

Cheers for now

Ali

Last I saw, Brownhills had a brand new screen in stock, for sale on eBay

I would confirm it with them if I were you, the A class windscreens cost a fortune to design and make, so not that many variations. An manufacturers tend to stick to what is in stock across ranges. The same screen probably £3k or more elsewhere and a long wait

I did think of buying it myself just in case for my Rapido, but your need is greater

Is there a reason that you’re not letting your motor insurer deal with it?

Yes I have that option but I have been informed it will go down as a claim and therefore effect future premiums no claims etc.
If I can source a reasonable price I’ll either pay it myself or can go down insurance route

But will you still have to report it to them?
Some insurers stipulate accidents should still be reported even if no claim made?

Take the hassle out mate and get the insurers to do it.

Not sure why they would mark it as a claim, never did on mine

Also even if it was a claim your potential increase to your policy will be minimal and counted in a couple of hundred at most but more likely less than 100.

On top of that changing insurers will give you a discount anyway.

Simply not worth the hassle if you ask me.

To have done it's going to cost 2 to 3 grand, although when taking out new policies they often ask about windscreen claims unless you have had about 3 in one year it won't affect the policy.

With an A Class it's important to make sure you get an OEM screen.

The problem seems to be I have a ceiling price of up to only £1000 for windscreen cover on my fully comp policy so in order for them to pay the full amount I have to make a claim against the policy. Iv been driving about with it cracked for a while now but I do really need to get it fixed before next mot

Yeah I thought of that , I guess I was worried incase it’s been logged on a system since Iv contacted them already about it but I suppose how are they to know that I haven’t got it fixed and then it’s happened again 🤔

Yeah wouldn’t be my preferred option to be fair
Would rather just pay to get it fixed
I Realise how much it will be tho

Most proper Motorhome policies it's pretty reasonable a lot give unlimited cover.
I'm with Comfort, unlimited if you use Autoglass otherwise £3000.
