Morning all
I am in the process of buying a rapido. The height is 2.93 m. (3.35 with Sat dome).
A quote on internet for ferry from Hull to Zeebrugge is saying this vehicle is too high for them. Has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks
Albial

No problem they have about 6 metres of headroom with the trucks, don't know where you read that.

Martin

EDIT I guess you read this (below), certainly doesn't apply to Hull Zeebrugge or Rotterdam or any other ferry I have been on.

INFO
  • If you're travelling with a vehicle over 3.2 metres this will reduce the number of sailings you can travel on, as some of our ships have height restrictions

Are you sure you put the decimal in the right place?.. 3.35... 33.5....

This quote must be a generic thing though as they run two ship Hull Zeebrugge one sailing each way per day and both ships have masses of headroom.

I tried booking a 7.25m motorhome for the Hull - Zeebrugge route for a random date in March and that is the message it came back with.

I know the message as we get it every time we book and travel with them which is about three times a year and has been for the past 6 years with a Motorhome over 3.4 metres and another 10 years before that with a caravan, never had a problem and as we have sailed on all their boats I don't see why there should be a problem in the future unless they introduce a non freight ship which only takes cars.

Even this one takes over 3.3 metres,

And yes we are on its sister,

Packed in tight though.

It's for sorting out the loading, some areas do have lower heights, usually where they put the motorbikes, never had a problem with our 3.23 van. New sensors on toll roads will catch an over 3M motorhome on the sensors, perhaps domes may be too far back to set them off.
