Today i received a letter informing me not to use my motorhome's Dometic fridge using 12v. I have to disconnect a blue connector in the lower vent area and switch it off at the front panel.
Apparenty if i don't "it could cause a thermal overload, leading to more serious damage, such as a fire starting in the rear compartment of the refrigerator, just by the engine being started up or when driving."
"The upgrade will consist of replacing the electronic power box and its cables"
Using the fridge on gas or 230v remains totally operational.
Gas must be switched off during driving (as it is forbidden to drive with the fridge on gas)
Last year i had to reduce the fuse rating for the fridge ( rapido instruction) from 30amp to a 20 amp supplied by them.
I have a Dometic RML9335 it affects 2016 and 2017 motorhomes.
