Just out of interest really.

On most solar regulators / mppt etc there is usually a live outlet that displays a light for an extra feed,

So today when I was looking at mine it made me wonder how many of you guys and girls actually use this extra live and if you do what do you use it for.

Then I was wondering why they display as a light symbol because you wouldn’t be generating light at night from solar.

Could this be used to charge an extra power bank maybe ?

I believe its an automatic switch so doesn't rely on solar panel output.... It will still switch even at night

Originally was designed for street lights fed from solar. Victron has a nice menu for the load output, dusk to down or vice-versa, limited hrs on or off, auto dimming on so it lights gradually, dimming off so it shuts down gradually etc. I use one for the outside lighting in the garden and soffit led over the door and apex of the house. I set it dusk to down on a battery life saving and does a great job since 2014. The only thing I changed is another used car battery. When is done on the car, I keep them for the garden lighting. Great future on small controllers. The big controller don’t have load output but have a relay contact that can be used in the same manner and more.
