That's an odd question. As they have a public road next to the base why wouldn't it be legal. That being said a lot of maps don't show military bases like the Fylingdes radar base near here. It's huge you can see it from miles away do they really think not having it on a map makes it invisible!!...Is it legal to take pictures of the Armed Forces?
I noticed when the bike race passed Fylingdales they "greyed-out" the view of the phased array antenna which I thought was a bit odd as you can drive past on the public road and indeed I have ridden the off road bridalway along the perimeter fence ??That's an odd question. Reminds me of when the tour de France passed through Keighley the TV commentary very wisely went to adverts..... Perfect timing! Only to reappear around about Haworth!!I noticed when the bike race passed Fylingdales they "greyed-out" the view of the phased array antenna which I thought was a bit odd as you can drive past on the public road and indeed I have ridden the off road bridalway along the perimeter fence ??

It makes you wonder if the phrase ," military intelligence " makes any sense! I heard but don't know if its true that the post office tower wasn't on maps at one time as it was a military communication hub!I noticed when the bike race passed Fylingdales they "greyed-out" the view of the phased array antenna which I thought was a bit odd as you can drive past on the public road and indeed I have ridden the off road bridalway along the perimeter fence ??

Boscombe down has some experimental aircraft fly in and out though, so understandable. I used to travel to various military airshows, and if you were camped locally a week or more before and after, you got some interesting activity, both in the air and by road with stuff not to be on show to the general public. At Boscombe Down there are signs on the perimeter fence saying no photography
So don't you think anyone from another country will very easily know what's been flying?Boscombe down has some experimental aircraft fly in and out though, so understandable. Open secret, yes. But kept away from the general public. The same goes for the mobile missile launchers that are usually on base to counter any threat. Best not to scare the general public, seeing how heavily armed and defended the bases are. We saw stealth aircraft long before they were fully in the public domainSo don't you think anyone from another country will very easily know what's been flying?
If anyone camped locally can see the aircraft how come they're secret!
Yes we pay for them donāt we, or at least in this case the Yanks haveIs it legal to take pictures of the Armed Forces?

Donna Nook firing range is a few miles awayā¦.. all sorts of stuff from chinooks, to Apaches to Typhoons and anything in between, attacking the targets. Spotters galore and some superb photos of (concrete) bombs leaving the rack and hitting the targets. Or not. Donna Nook spotters group on Faceacheā¦ā¦..That's an odd question. Funny that, I've worked a lot in and around London for 25+ years and never seen a gun. I did see one in a nightclub in Blackpool in the Nineties.you should come to london every fecker has a gun according to chaser

they had drone issues at civilian airports and called in the American specialists with blocking technology. If anyone was stupid enough to try it on a US airbase, the drone would be shot out of the sky and the idiot if caught would be in super serious troubleIt surprises me that you can stand on the verge of the main road as the planes come into land about 40 feet directly above you . Surely with the trouble they have had with drones in other places this is a disaster waiting to happen.
Security around Lakenheath is massive, no one in their tiny mind would try it on that close to the base. Better off trying to take an F15/16 or similar down from a few miles away.It surprises me that you can stand on the verge of the main road as the planes come into land about 40 feet directly above you . Surprisingly there are signs in other countries around bases specifically banning photos or videos being taken ...i spotted them in greece and in spain . Id be surprised if the uk didn't have that rule but not sure if they do or not. That's an odd question. As they have a public road next to the base why wouldn't it be legal.
