my radio is wired so that i can use with out the keys in the ignition , my question is where can i get a switched feed from the radio for the amplifier so that it turns of when i turn the radio off, would the feed for the electric Ariel on the back of the radio do it

hi on the back of the radio there will be the electric aerial wire (normally blue on most sets)
this will be fine to power the stick on aerial.
there may also be another switched feed for amplifiers depending on the make and type of radio this is also normally blue but sometimes has a white stripe this has a slightly higher capacity but does the same job.
