Just a tad..
Morning Funsters

I’m in need of some advice..

I am after a small platform which mounts to the tow ball (or uses the two bolts of the tow ball) on which I can carry my Zodiac boat (not inflated) and other bulky accessories.

Google throws up some options, but I was keen to hear if anyone has used similar and can recommend one?

Many thanks in advance.

This one is popular, especially on the continent. You see quite a lot of them, either with a box, or just a stack of lashed chairs and wind-breaks etc,

Amazon product ASIN B06XS1ZJP3

Thanks Jim… Looked at these, but was a bit alarmed with only 45kg capacity. Also looks a pretty flimsy attachment with only a grub bolt type setup to the tow ball…

Westfalia do a BC60 ebike rack which takes significant weight and they do a platform for it too in place of the bikes. Pricey but solid mounting onto any towball. I've got just the rack and its great. Worth a look.

My scooter rack from Armitage carries 150 kg although I have uprated it to 190 , you could easily convert one to luggage if Armitage Don,t do them

Another great idea… however I need to be able to swap between towball use for the TOAD and this platform, so I think a scooter rack would be a little too permanent for me…

Thule do a rear carrier, as you say it's only a bolt that holds it on but once tightened up it is very sturdy, IMO.
I'll be taking one to Spain shortly to bring contents of the caravan home with us.

I’ve been down this road 6 months ago, my outboard fits in my double floor but the inflatable will not fit in that space, looked at loads of secondhand towbar mounted racks but worried the payload is too tight. Most of the time now I fold the back seat on the toad and wedge it in the toad, (best of both worlds) the only time I was only going for a couple of days I just chucked it in a spare erde trailer I have for tip runs.
