Thirsk is a good site 5 min walk into town, Cheltenham site is ok, bus into town from the gates, both club sites actually within the racecourse. Perth racecourse is next to Scone club site as well.

Cheltenham CAMC site is basic but a lovely walk or bus ride into town also their Exeter site is in a nice position but quite a way from the city.
The CAMC site at Uttoxeter is right next to the town.

Uttoxeter has a CMC club site and the CCC also hold rallies there. Easy walk to town.
Stratford on Avon have a site but it's not a club site and they dont open until into March. See Sappers link

Cheltenham and Thirsk.

Cheltenham has been mentioned above and Thirsk is a very easy walk into the town.

Love the racecourse sites but be aware that at some of them, eg. Thirsk, you have to move to a rally field on race days, as the site is used as the carpark for the racegoers.

Hi FF, we're also going to the Royal Windsor Horse Show, so it would be perfect to stay there! Is it a CAMC site please! 🐴🤞

I've used Cheltenham on a regular basis when travelling south. I dont think the campsite opens until the jump season has finished and then closes again before it restarts.
I use Uttoxeter when going across country and have been there when a race meeting has been on, it is usually fully booked up a number of weeks in advance of the meeting. Its a close walk into town.
I've stayed at Warwick when a meeting has been on and was pitched next to the finishing post.
I've also stayed at Fakenham, Exeter and Thirsk. I do like the racecourse sites mostly for their locations, the facilities are usually basic.

Yes, that was a pain - thankfully realised it a few days before and rebooked so only 2 days in Thirsk. It was the most non level, level site that I have ever seen

It just overlaps, campsite opens 11 April and the last two race meets are 13 and 14 April this year.

Cheltenham racecourse about 5 years ago in July according to the photo date, its usually busier than this. There is a good slope but i manage to get level, i'm pitched up on the non EHU next to the finishing straight rails.
