Just can’t decide which one
RAC or a Nationwide account.
Not sure which of the breakdown services would be the best.

this is a question you will not know the answer to until you need the service, I have had both in the paste but didn't need to call them 🤔

Nationwide also gives you worldwide travel insurance so I wouldl just do the numbers so to speak!

Just for info. You can buy RAC cover using Tesco Clubcard points, which drastically reduces the price.

Don't know how long your van is but the max length for Europe is 8m on the Nationwide.

We had a quote for their travel insurance to see if it was worth switching, twice the price of LV!

We were also considering it for their travel insurance but they were not competitive. So not for us. Might be different if you are healthy with no pre-existing medical conditions.

Not sure they would cover us now so it’s really just down to the breakdown cover.

We’re 7.8 so will scrape in.

Never thought of that it’s on a automatic renewal although I have negotiated a discount already.

Nationwide.

Right our van was in sap having stuff put on, semi Air E&P etc, last daybefore pickup the van taken in to replace the radio. Massive leak of clutch fluid turns out the slave cylinder , plus bearings and seals failed. So as I was contracted Nationwide, rang them. Yes I was home, van in Doncaster. The AA are the agents for Nationwide, they asked where the van was, explained having stuff added, they refused to recover mainly as they classed SAP working on the van as 'repairs ' plus the van was not roadside.
I am now in dispute with them.

The van was recovered from Doncaster and taken to be fixed in Willenhall, some 90 miles by Crouch. Same day recovery £700 plus VAT, next day recovery £550 plus VAT .

So, it could be that if you went shopping in your van to Tesco, and broke down, you could be classed as not being roadside.

So be aware

Our van 7.6m long
2.98 m high
4.2 tonnes..

Also
Is Nationwide still 180 day trips only ? In one go.
Think that’s what swung it for us last time as the RAC are 360 days.

Can remember reading this now the other day.
We would also have a problem with them doing this.
Hope you get it sorted.
Will have to read the small print as to what the RAC would of done.
