Interestingly not only did I pay RAC (through C + CC) £330 just for breakdown, although any vehicle either of us driving and in any other car

but when I renewed the insurance a month later that cost less than £330 and included an option for recovery, o_O which I left in alongside RAC as it would only save about £60

By haggling with them I paid much less than that and, for the complete package, including every option Europe, onward, home etc, and family membership for 4 drivers. Wasn’t even a hard haggle, just questioned it.

I did exactly the same telling them I had a cheaper quote elsewhere. They dropped the price by around 95GBP.

Nationwide Plus account, costs £13 per month, will cover any vehicle you are in.
Will not cover everyone. From memory max length is 8.5m. Don't have access here at the moment to check but it is clearly stated in the T&C's. Would hate for someone to think they are covered and find out the hard way.

I think a lot of peaple think they are covered when in fact if they actually read there terms and conditions they are not covered. When you spend what we do on our motorhomes to me another £200 is worth every penny knowing I have a service which will if anything happens get me back on the road, or to where I wanted to go in the first place, even if I am in Europe. Hope I never need to use it but if I do, it’s peace of mind.

I agree.

Speaking to them was like talking to a 4 year old child. One guy couldn't even get the spelling of my name correct, despite my spelling it out to him multiple times... the attention span of a gnat.

In the end we did buy the RAC cover through the CCC because of the long term cover they offered. I just hope that in the event of a breakdown they have a different team of call handlers manning the phones!

I've just been scouring the net for breakdown cover and cc&c club came out at over 200£.
Comfort will add it for £80plus £20 admin. 365 days abroad .Nationwide works out at mote even if I paid the £13a month,I already use them for travel which I pay an extended travel cost of £90 for 3 months away .

I've used Nationewide twice for vehicles (not MoHo) and they've been very efficient both times, up here in the Highlands where breakdown recoveries are a bit scarcer than down in Englandshire.
