After a very up and down year (more down than up actually) we are returning to France for the first time since 2019. We are crossing to Roscoff on the overnight ferry on 1st September and heading to stay for a few days with friends near Duras (just south of Bergerac). Does anyone have a recommendation for a quiet site where we can kick back and totally relax for a few days en route back to Roscoff?

Have a look at moulin forte near Blere on the river Cher.

Just realised it may be a bit off your route 🙄
Just had a look, it is a bit far east, we only have just over 2 weeks on this trip because of commitments at home. Thanks though, one for another time perhaps

The CCP aire at Cléder which is a few miles west of Roscoff is a favourite of ours. We usually stay a day or two there after arriving at Roscoff or before returning. There is a supermarket at the Cléder itself a few kilometres away for supplies.

Nothing there other than sandy beaches, rocks and some enjoyable coastal footpath walking.

Hesitate to recommend somewhere we only went to once because things change- but we quite liked the Camping du lac de Bignac, just nw of Angouleme, 18€ with ACSI card. Or maybe Huttopia Saumur, ACSI rate €16 (unless you pay through the nose for a river panorama.)
