Hi all,

Wanting to grab a couple of nights away starting tomorrow evening, so can't go too far. Can't make my mind up! Looking for somewhere that will happily take 2 doglets and with good walking or cycling trails.

Any suggestions, please?

Hi

We have a seasonal pitch at C&CC Thetford Forest. Very good facilities and 73,000 acres of forest on your doorstep. Site shop selling essentials but no others within about 6 miles though.

Thanks…..my only concern with Sandringham, which I guess could also be applied to Thetford, is the seasonal canine disease? :/
Polstead is one that I haven't heard of and looks good :)

It has been a warm Autumn so far, usually this 'causes' the dog deaths. Ours aren't dead yet and they always walk in the forest!

Has anyone actually PROVEN that the sick dogs actually caught their ailments from woodland or is it all a cainine gassing myth?

When we go up to Suffolk to see the parents we always go to a site called beach view in leiston.
Nice flat pitch, all facilities, bar and best of all fantastic walks along the sea front with all the dogs.

Seasonal canine disease is a worry.. But ours enjoys himself in the woods wherever we go and has had no probs.

One for the future maybe, Alton Water, big reservoir in Suffolk, has just been granted planning permission for a new 88 pitch campsite. Lots of walks, cycle hire, cafe etc already there, a popular place for water sports too. I hope it will be up and running next season!

Almost forget.. One in Colchester.. our friends have a cracking little site .. The Lodge CL

handy for visiting Mersea Island, Colchester Zoo, .. and of course, historic Colchester, oldest town in Britain.. and the Roman capital.. still has a lot of the old Roman walls and the Norman castle is built on top of the Roman ruins .. decent walks and bus service from outside the site into town.

Polstead C&CC site is a couple of miles from where we live. Pub within walking distance and Hadleigh/Boxford a couple of miles away.
