many many years! since I was a kid
whilst its good practice, it isnt essential to match the ah ratings. What is essential is that both batteries are of the same age. fitting a new battery in parallel with an older one will reduce the effective ah available and when the old one starts to die, it will kill the new one too

Second time around.
I thought that might be the case.

Battery capacity has never been a problem before and the leisure battery looks relatively new, but for the past week my daughter has been with us, so with all the extra water pumping and use of computers and TV it has gone down quite quickly.

I was thinking of fitting a solar panel, until a full timer on the site we were on pointed out that I have room for a second battery in an underseat cupboard directly behind the existing battery space.
Cheers, John

Since 2007
We have 2 x 80w solar and 2 x 110A batteries. We are not big users but dont want to be in the dark...

We have changed all the lights to LED, that helps, and so far we have only ever got down to 80% capacity.

Solar for us all the way, also keeps the main battery charged up..
