Hey,

Thinking about applying vinyl wrap to the walls of the bathroom.

Removing all sealant first, applying to the walls to brighten it up a little (it is 23 years old) and then re-sealing all the way round.

Anyone done anything similar? Or know of any reason what this would be a daft idea?

Thanks

Dale

Put this on a previous thread Bill..Its a Scout from Alan Kerr Motorhomes...Whoever owned it before , Obviously thought the darker timbers were too much for them? He covered the kitchen in a white Wrap (Look at the fridge freezer) and the rest as you can see it. Some say it worked ...?

hi
i don’t think falling off will be a problem. ours, from vinyl corp on eBay, sticks like sh1t.
The outside Of our van is mostly vinyl (over glass & plastic) & removing it to change colour is a bugger.
Last lot lasted 5 years & was still pretty good apart from where I’d scratched it with trees etc.
I don’t know how familiar you are to putting on but flat surfaces are pretty easy With lots of Slightly soapy water & a spreader. Curved are another matter & beyond me mostly.

Strikes me that it could be a costly mistake. Why not buy her some coloured glasses?

Hi Bill I remember a few years back when Paris waterproof boards were used by manufacturer that then realised that they were not as waterproof as they thought. This led to them using kitchen vynil wallpaper on the boards. I did this on one of my conversions as I had just done bathroom in Paris boards😥 I used overlap adhesive instead of normal wallpaper paste, very easy to do and the paste allowed movement to slide the paper about/ pull out/ off etc
As far as I know it was still stuck about 5 years later
