Good luck to them with that one. When my sister lived in their area she had to get permission to re paint her own front door. They told her what colour had to be used.

Will depend on whether the Duke wants it or not I expect!

Anyone passing that can pop in and point them in the direction of this website, or Britstops? (y)

I hope they mske it a sensible price.
i think the following quote is bollxx though "in the rural village of Peak Forest and will not only benefit the Village Inn but also ensure that there is less risk of unauthorised camping with in the Peak District and the dangers that can ensure with this."

Probably put that in to try and bolster their application. 🤷‍♂️

I think it's good news as others have said provided it's basic and a reasonable cost but I didn't like this bit in their statement "but also ensure that there is less risk of unauthorised camping with in the Peak District and the dangers".

Beat me to it!!

The Halfway Inn between Carmarthen and Llandeilo has gone completely the other way. It used to be a pub/restaurant with MH and camping at the rear car park. Now it has been renamed Towy Valley Caravan park (http://www.towyvalleycaravanpark.co.uk/) and Daffies Bistro.

I can see quite a few pubs changing to a mixed hostelry / overnight stay. Done well they could do well from the overnight fees, evening meal and drinks plus breakfasts, Sunday lunch.

That's normal for properties near a national park.

We had those regs as far back as the late 80's (and before, I expect).

It didn't prevent other projects being agreed.

The Chatworth estate owns vast amounts of land and properties and insist the rented proprietors are all painted the same colour.

Reasonably priced would be brilliant. Am now at a site in Aberfeldy, near the Dewars distillery. Way over priced, taking the mickey of the situation and not delivering. Too bad but a spreading trend

One of the things I really like to do - have a evening in a nice country pub - meal and a few drinks

It would be a great spot. Loads to do around there.

Many local councils in Germany have built ‘Stellplätze‘ with electricity, water and black water disposal. Most only charge for electricity and water. A survey a few years ago concluded that the average amount spent in the local community is €30 per person.

Already got a campsite next door at Field Farm.

Peak Park are very strict and mainly run by do gooders who don’t live there or care much for local population. It’s not a bad pub though but can they not run on MHF exemption without bothering with Peak Park?

Peak authority are a bunch of tossers.
Bend over for walkers , everyone else can do one .
Just sayin like.
