Morning

I am looking for recommendations for a

Pan Tilt Zoom Camera Please?

Stand Alone, WiFi that I can view by an APP.

I currently have a Motorola Focus FOCUS 73. Shockingly poor. App is slow, camera does not like non fixed IP's and constantly loses connection. Requiring me to get the ladders out and climb 20 foot to reset it with my mobile.

No good losing connection when I am in the UK and the bl33eding camera is 20 feet in the air.

Anyone?

Why can't you just power it down from inside ?

I had no problem with cheapo Chinese cameras, you just have to set up the router properly and use DynDNS to get over the IP address problem. There is a brilliant app on Android to go with that scheme.

I've moved since then so a bit out of touch with the exact details.

Camera on roof of house in Spain, I could be thousands of miles away!

Well you did say get a ladder out. Big ladder.

But still, Sonof would sell you a remote cloud based switch that could power it down from 1000s of miles away, all for a tenner. I
haven't tried this but loads of examples on YouTube.

A simpler plan is connect via a normal time switch plug, and power it down for a minute every day. That might work.

All very useful thank you.

The one I have does not reset when powered down. You have to pair the camera manually every time it loses it.

Some ISPs offer a nil cost fixed IP address if that would solve the problem. I'm on fixed IP with Zen & I know others do it if asked.

Okay,

An update....

I changed from Orange 3G/4G which was up-to 50GB at €55 month and €15 a month per 5GB added.

Now have Movistar (Telefonica) 3G/4G Unlimited, €49.

But the issue with the Motorola continued, despite assigning it a fixed address on the Router.

I purchased a Floureon SD17W 2.0 Mp 1080p ip Camera. So dar so good with a far improved performance and image.

I will post a snap shot when I get chance.
