Proposed Weymouth Aire (1 Viewer)

It was really refreshing to read Andy Culley's letter in the February 2014 edition of MMM received today, detailing the proposed plans for an aire in Weymouth, to be operational by Easter! And future proposals for one in West Bay.

A great big thank you to Chris Graves from the local council for his enlightened and pro-active view regarding the benefits of welcoming motorhomes. We stayed on the temporary site at Weymouth Rugby Club throughout the Olympics, spent a lot of money and are great fans of the whole area.

Lets hope it's a great success, is not abused and sets a new standard for future developments in the UK.

Can I ask where this new aire in Weymouth proposed to be? We often go down to Dorset as our son lives in Blandford forum, be great to stay over in weymouth

The article doesn't say the proposed location, but reading between the lines, it sound as if it's going to be somewhere in the Lodmoor Country Park/Sealife area towards Overcombe and Preston.
