Has anyone been required to show the French/Spanish border staff any proof of their planned exit from the EU?
Thanks in advance.
John

We haven’t, but, always carried the return booking printed when transited countries with restrictions. One of their condition for transit was to have proof of going forward home.

No, never have and stopped booking returns many years ago as we were never sure where we would end up.

Tbh at the risk of being a bit practical racist I think legislation like this is there to impede people from countries that would not be attractive to return to - Belarus, Sudan, Birmingham

We don’t book return tickets as we don’t know when we’re coming back.

I think this was a perfectly practical way to travel when we too were EU members but now we are not I think the EU are like all other countries and demand a return proof for foreigners. I’m pretty sure when you visit USA you have to have return flights, there was a time here when Americans had to visit the local police station & sign a register every month because they were foreigners, they didn’t like having to do that.

Only shengen ...and they can't object to you leaving shengen but not returning home.
