Does anybody have a recommendation for a company that can assist in our relocation to a either Spain or Portugal. We are still young enough 50 and 36 to have work in the uk and that’s not going to change for the next 10 years at least. Luckily this work is only for 2 months in one stint out of the full year. Obviously we need specialist tax advise as although we want to reside in another country we won’t be working in that country but in the uk.
The reason is we love the freedom of travel in the EU and don’t want to lose that privilege.

I would look for a fiduciare in your destination country, i've done that twice now.

You can use so called international fiduciare companies, there's many around offering such services to UK residents and they'll also offer services like mortgage brokerage as they are more like financial advisers that happen to have a fiduciare in house. Make sure who ever you choose is expert in that country (hence why i prefer a local company) as tax rules and regs can be super complex and in France for example many tax values differ region to region.

Something else to consider is a forum for UK expats moving to your destination country, pretty sure they'll be many for Spain and several for Portugal.

To be fair for the weather reason alone I would like it to be Costa del sol or Costa tropical so if anyone has a specific recommendation in that area we would appreciate it.

As a example for you we did a France relocation simulation last year. For us that would involve setting up a new Sàrl (LTD) company and of course knowing from €1.00 what ends up in your pocket. I paid a fiduciare to get a full break down of this and to give me an excel that i could use going forwards ie if some values changed then i had a base line. Think i paid about €300 for that, one company did ask for €800 for the same service though.

I was a newbie
I believe if you have 350,000 euros and you buy a nice pad in Portugal, you can get a passport through the golden passport scheme............for some that may be a good investment and you get a nice house in the sun

It’s always a possibility, however initially we wanted to rent rather than buy so we are happy with the area we put down roots.
