Can you get an 11 and a 6 in your locker, might be easier to find an 11

Flogas depot at Yeovil

You won't find them out of stock

Try your local tip/recycling centre. I have in the past I have got them for a box of tea bags and a packet of biscuits.
Good luck 👍

Hi thanks after propane tho really , i cant get an 11 in it takes two 6s all i can find anywhere is exchanges where you need to have an empty to swap ,ill try that flogas at yeovil thanks , and i need to do a trip to the skips so ill have look there as well. thanks

Flogas will charge you £38 for your first full bottle without exchange and set up an account then you'll always have access to a supply. Even when their website says they're out of stock they have supplies for account holders. Exchange 6kg's are £24.75 thereafter.

Been with them for years.

If you can get hold of a calor butane, then they will usually exchange that for a propane of the same size or smaller. So that's a start for you.
If convenient take up Nyvern s offer. (y)

I've stuck an empty one on my garden wall today to see if the scrappy takes it, otherwise it's going into the recycling bin

(Greenwich SE10)

Calor merchants still not allowed to do new contracts. When they will who knows? We’ve inherited a full 6kg lightweight bottle, hoping when empty to swap for new normal one. Anyone know if this will be possible?

Yes they will swap bottles, but some places won’t issue new bottle (new contract) currently. Also a scrapy won’t take them, nor will the bin men, or landfill due to safety reasons.

Given the disgraceful service and prices from Calor these days, the best bet is to have 1 x Flowgas and 1 x Calor in your locker.
Use the Flowgas as standard and the Calor as back-up only. Believe me, you'll save a LOT.
At one time, the main reason people used Calor was easy accessibility but the Flowgas network is so extensive these days that even tho' you may have to drive off the campsite to get a refill, odds on you wont have to drive far. Most (I know, not all) people have smart phones or mobile internet these days so it's easy to access the Flowgas website for nearest stockist.
Speaking as both a 'vanner, and a site Warden, I steer clear as poss' from Calor now and I happen to know that at least one of the major Clubs is in talks with Flowgas for site supplies because they're so brassed off with Calors attitude and prices.

I can’t understand this “calor“ as back up thing. It’s hugely expensive, it is currently difficult to get in this country, and not available in any other country. Back up is having two refillables. You know you can always have two full cylinders, use one, and one spare.

Do flow gas need a different connector? Will look into replacement bottles cheers

Landy Andy Backup same or different bottles. to me 2 refilables would only be used as one big one unless you religously go out and fill up when first runs out. Getting autogas is getting more difficult in UK used to be 2 within 2miles and one 12miles away, nearest now 20miles.
I currently use the refilable as a backup. i started with 2 propane from dealer and 2 butane from my folding camper so only bought one gaslow to start with. Recently i attacked the garage and found 1 empty and 1 full 15kg butane how? a while ago we lent someone a portable gas heater with some gas, it must have come back with the 2. So the 15kg butane is now in the van (heater died years ago). I still have a 6kg for backup. I doubt if others have exactly the same reason though.

Wow! We’re in Spain with a Repsol bottle plugged in, 12.5 kgs 17€.
The Spanish 12.5 kg price is fixed by the government as they are a domestic fuel .
Our small Calor cylinders are predominantly a niche market small volume leisure industry product .

I dont normally have a problem with changing my 6kg bottle at our local Calor shop but today they said they were struggling to get any size of bottles. The local depot are limiting stock to there shops due to the shortages. This means the small shops are struggling to survive.
Once the static caravan parks open here at Easter there will be a mad rush for bottles.
It would be a shame to see our small shop go under. They have been a family business for a long time serving the local comunity.
