I am try to connect my wife's amazon kindle to the internet via a Vodafone mifi R218H at the same time as I'm using my lap top. the kindle recognisees the mifi and keeps asking for a password we enter the password and tap WPS but are unable to connect the kindle.

Any suggestion greatly received and appreciated.

Thanks Derry

Hi Derry
Not conversant with kindl ,but assume it's the same as Amazon firestick.
Find WiFi (Vodafone mifi)
You should be able to just put password in and follow promps to connect .
Should'nt need to push WPS as well .

WPS is a (slightly insecure) method of attaching devices to a WiFi network without needing to type the password. You either use the password, or you use WPS. I've found that WPS works about 80% the time. But if it doesn't, it's a pain to get the devices back to a state where they are happy to attempt to re-connect, so whenever I can I just use the password.

@jollyrodger and Guigsy

As you can probably tell I'm no techy. The Kindle device recognises the correct mifi device when switched on. It then asked for a password, what I don't know is what password its referring to, the same password as I put in my lap top or another one. @Guigsy are you saying there's no need for a password, I can just push the WPS key instead?

Thanks once again

Just use the same password as you use on the laptop. You don't need to do anything on the MiFi.

I would usually use the same pw used to succesfully connect the laptop.
Only use the IP address if I wanted to go into the mifi settings and as @namwaldog has said pw and user name admin admin .

If its the same as our vodaphone mifi take the back off and use the wifi key number on the sticker thats on it (I've also written the sim telephone no there and the date we started using the data)
