Always had Repsol bottles but now have a Gas It system with an external filler.
First bottle empty and just pulled into a Cepsa station in Albacete to fill up and the pump nozzle fits but as soon as you start filling it blows gas so it’s obviously not seated properly.
Have spoken to another motorhomer on an aire and he has an extension nozzle.
Now the questions :-
I doubt there will be a Spanish stockist.
I am currently Googling to find the part but a shortcut from someone would be helpful.
If I have to get one sent out from the UK what is the best way to do it.
I still have one bottle full so am OK for the short term.
May have to beg an adaptor or filler if things get desperate.
Any help will be received with thanks.
Graham

Has your Euro adaptor got a non return valve in it?
If so bash it out as that is what may be causing the problem.

It would appear that the Gas It filter extension would solve the problem.
Now how to sort out getting one.

Gas it is not the same thread is it ?? Safefill use left hand Pol
( propane).
Also have to ask, you did open the bottle ?? 😁👍
Sounds like you may need the straight extension and then the Spanish adapter on the end.

Surely best to buy the Safefill extender - Somerset more-info should do it? We have one and will be in La Zenia getting a pet passport on 20 March if that helped. We will then potter down to La Herradura hoping to stay on the new aire there for 2 weeks.

Steve, I always have the bottles shut when filling. Never been a problem.
Update …I have a Gas It system not Safefill.
Headless chicken moment.

Thanks. My system is Gas It. Don’t why I said SafeFill. Edited my original post. 👍

Many years ago long before motorhomes, we had a duel fuel car but only had a UK filling adaptor and that had the small thread, we had been to France Spain and Italy many times in cars but never one that ran on gas.😁
Janie went ballistic having to run a 2 litre car on petrol, so contacted the garage that sold us the car, they explained about these different adaptors and sent some out. but ................. they were normal size and wouldn't screw into our filler point. 🤔

So we went and found a French engineer showing him our problem and he put a thread into our UK bayonet and we screwed all the others into it, we did that for 6 years and then gave it to our youngest daughter. 😎 Bob

We have a gas-it refillable bottle in our pvc. First time I went to top it up at the local garage to where we were staying in Spain, before I could get the adaptor out of the glovebox, the attendant came over and pulled an adaptor out of his pocket and did the job for us. We try to go back there when we can. :giggle:

How do you fill up in the UK then?

Edit:
Nothing to do with Gas-it, its the type of inlet you have. I take it that its the round one that has the UK adaptor built in.
Yes standard UK external filler with bayonet fitting. The Spanish adaptor screws into this OK. The problem is the adaptor need to sit out slightly further, hence the need for an extension adaptor.
I would be interested to know if any others have experienced this problem.

Not heard of this problem before so well worth trying another gas station.

Put a photo on of what you have Graham, because the same adaptors are available here in Spain, as in my previous post I had a thread put in, but most have a thread in them these days. 😁

We have gas it and have to screw adaptors into it, but if you put your UK on in, you should find its threaded inside and you can screw your Spanish euro adaptor into it. 😎 Bob.

You can screw a normal UK adaptor in then screw your Euro adaptor on. May have to saw the bayonet pegs off.
Probably get in Spain also known as a Dutch Bayonet.

Here is one on Amazon, Amazon will deliver to Spanish site or to one of their drop boxes.

Hi Bob , my filler is a UK bayonet with a threaded centre and the adaptor screws into it.

If you are on a site have a look for a Brit or Dutch van with the small square filler, they will have one on board.
