Advice needed please. I have had my motorhome plugged into the mains but after a few weeks it melted the plug and tripped the vans electrics. I replaced the plug adaptor with a brand new one which worked for a couple of days but blew something again and now the mains socket on the wall is fried. Has anybody experienced this before or have any idea what it could be? Any help appreciated.

Sounds like a loose connection somewhere in the supply route from your mains supply to your van. It could be your hook up lead, the domestic wall socket or the inlet to your van. If you feel able, you should strip out and check all the screw connections, only needs a loose wire to create a bit of resistance, then things start to get too hot very quickly.

You have got through two different 13A adapters so I would think you should look at the mains socket on the wall - maybe there is a loose connection in there, or a defective contact that's got a bit of resistance. If it's as 'fried' as you say, then it must be a good idea to replace it with a new one, making sure that the wires are screwed tight.

The next question is how much power are you using? If you are using a kilowatt or two then a slightly defective plug/socket could give you that problem. However if you are only using very low power - enough to keep the batteries topped up - then I'd be much more worried, a burned plug/socket shouldn't happen unless there's a serious problem.
