Problem with 12v distribution unit (1 Viewer)

was fitting 2 batterys and the + and - touch each other the unit shows 12v but when I put light on it drops down to 0 , will I need a new unit

Hi.. and welcome... i see its your first post...
A little more detail required before anyone can really offer any advice...
Are you saying you shortedcout a battery by connecting the positive and negative wires on same battery or connected the positive of one battery to the negative of the second...
And where are you measuring the voltage at to get 0...?

it shouldn't cause a problem. Current can't flow without a feed and return so touching the wires won't give the panel a return route.
the battery OR control panel couldn't be in circuit if you could touch both wires..
Are the batteries charged.?

They were fully charged ,auto electric tested it ,he seems to think it's a fuse ,.its a autotrail Cheyenne 2002

Hi..good news got it fixed,,the fault was underneath on the chassie don't understand why it was not covered up to stop any water getting to it .
