Just had a quick run around the local area and have done :-

Filled diesel across the road. £1.01/lt with Shell card discount.

500m to commercial tyre fitters to top-up air [Most forecourts cannot provide 4.8 bar for rear.]

1km to builders merchants' weighbridge. allowing for filling water and Basia's 60kg we are 80kg under our 3850kg to allow for food and clothes.

Neither tyre place nor weighbridge wanted to charge, but I dropped the tyre guy £2 and weighbridge £4. Both well pleased.

Tyre place said 'we do it for free to keep people safe on the road.' What an enlightened and cheering attitude

Polish people like that, all with a welcoming smile, should be welcomed to UK with open arms. I would not care if some mean-mouthed British lost their jobs/businesses as a result.

Hi. nicholsong
Feel good factor + 1. Came home from the coast, into Santa Comba Dao,lunch time today. Do some shopping before going up to the village.Me. " Lets call into Pingo Doce s/market and have a couple of cheese and ham toasties from the little cafe in the foyer ? " Jennifer. " What about the dog,its very hot in here " Cut a long story short i said we will have them " take out" Orders three toasties and produce my bank card,no, go to the ATM and get cash. I hjave not been tested/trusted ? :ROFLMAO: at the ATM on my own,so back out to the m/ho and collect 20 euro note. Lady doing the cooking says. " Monday to friday we do soup as well,do you want some ? " No and explained the dog and m/home situation. No problem, bring your wife and dog to the doorway and i will put you out a table and two chairs in the shade......................................
She did just that and we sat and enjoyed the break even better. Question... Are the people of Poland and Portugal inter related ?.... Is it because both countries names start with a capital P ?
As said before,i/we..:ROFLMAO: can never go home, they have burnt the beds.
Tea Bag .
PS. I don't think us eloping in '62 helped.:h: (y)

We have two Polish men working for us and they are the best employees we have ever had. Keen, proud, friendly, hardworking and enthusiastic.
