zizkop is where we stayed in Prague Bill.

Have a google for it. Its decent enough with lots of walking nearby. But its a 2 min walk to the tram stop and a 10 min ride to the Square. Trams every 5-10 mins too.

We loved it there, it looks like an old Eastern European prison camp, surrounded by fences and security.

Cultural we would call it :winky:

edit, found it for ya

This may not apply to you, but I see central Prague has a Euro 4 requirement for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, and you have to pre-register. The European Lez website states this applies to lorries and buses, but I'm not sure if that is just a generalisation for large vehicles. The zone operates between 08:00 and 18:00 Monday-Friday.

Unfortunately I cannot remember the specific site in Prague but we have been to both Prague (twice) and Krakow and stayed in sites that we found from our usual sources (acsi book and the caravan club site book). Both cities have good bus services and in both cases we walked from the site to bus stops. I think the Krakov site was Clepardia.

Both cities are well worth a visit.

Will you be going to Auschwitz on the way? Not exactly enjoyable but very moving. You can stay the night in the car park opposite the gates.

Bill Jean Luc is right.

Depending on what size van you have you need to buy a gobox type thing. You have leave a deposit for the box which is returned and then you pay a rough amount depending on where you are travelling. Its simple to get one at the border, you attach it to your windscreen and it gets read at various places on the autoroute. You can get to Prague without using the autoroute but this is very difficult.
You need to ensure that you have a log book with you.

If you are not 3.5t you need to get a disc to display in your window, quite cheap well much cheaper than the box.

it sounds more complicated than it actually is, they have a web site in English.

Have a look at my blog about our trip to Prague with some info on it.
It is a great place to visit too. :thumb:

Never been there Paul so my knowledge is based purely on the internet, but I was not thinking of the large vehicle road use tax issue (i.e. the Go-box). I was referring to the relatively new low emission zone in Prague. So, two things for Bill to think about I guess.

Yes jean, there are only certain times when you can access the city if your over 3.5t from memory it was before 7-30 am and after 6pm on certain days.

But looks like bill is not over 3.5t so his life will be easier:thumb:
