Getting better
Hi. I'm looking at getting a jump start/inverter/compressor power pack that will start a 2.2L diesel and can be used for running a TV, charging etc when EHU not available for longer periods.

Any suggestions for a suitable one would be appreciated, thanks

Tin all honesty it sounds like you really need a generator or a good large array of solar panels

Thanks. I do have solar panels but I have a number of non-12V appliances etc and it makes more sense for me to get the power bank with inverter rather than replacing all the appliances. I was hoping that the power bank would be quieter (and cheaper) than a generator as I have read that there are many complaints about noisy generators.

Most jumper packs contain a sub 20amp battery.
You wont run much, for long, from an inverter on a <20amp battery.
20 amp/hours at 12V will yield 1A at 240V for 1 hour at 100% efficiency.

Better off with a quiet gennie (Honda) for running such things, as long as you don't park up next to me

I have a cheap genny on board, 800 watts, and the wife uses a Moulinex 500 watt hairdryer that we could only find on ebay (works well) plus we have a 400 watt water boiler effort. We only use them for emergencies, but it is there and that gives us the reassurance

I have a vehicle starter pack as well, also for emergency jump starting, and that works a treat

The Honda suitcase style generators are the best for noise and reliability, but they come at a cost premium.

Here are links

Genny (Wolf): £189

Low power hairdryer: £10 ish

Honda genny: Amazon product ASIN £1198!!!

Starter/Booster: Amazon product ASIN B01BF08HGC £69

This is a nice bit of kit and easily started my transit 2.5diesel from flat
That looks a neat package. I have to say I was extremely sceptical about those efforts until I had to use one. Boy do they work

Yea they are good I have a silverline one the big thing with the jump leads on and it just never seemed to give a good enough boost . I was amazed at this one for its size I could not believe its power and great for usb items with controllable voltage . The flashlight even has a morse code setting on it and flashing led lights
