We are real novices. On our first trip and can say the best thing I’ve done so far is have a refillable LPG system fitted.
We are running everything on gas and the heating is far better than when on EHU, that was explained on a previous thread.
So we have everything we need from gas and the 12 volt electrics, apart from my wife being able to plug in her heated hot brush. Trust me this is a major issue, she had a gas one at some stage but that didn’t suit.
What I need is a power pack which I can charge when the engine is running from the 12 v system or from the 12v system from the leisure battery. This must have a plug socket which she can plug her regular hot brush in to.
I don’t understand inverters and lithium batteries, we are never going to go off grid to that extent.
The amount of electricity we need does not warrant always looking for EHU.
Advice needed friends, you could seriously earn me brownie points and make my life so much easier.

I’m not ignoring your question, bear with me,I’ll find it tomorrow. It’s in the Moho.

If it’s a relatively small one, say about 600watts then it’s easy to sort.

The bigger 2000 watt sort get a bit more difficult.

This will do 600 watts.

BLUETTI Portable Power Station EB3A, 268Wh LiFePO4 Battery Backup w/ 2 600W (1200W Surge) AC Outlets, Recharge from 0-80% in 30 Min, Solar Generator for Outdoor Camping (Solar Panel Optional) Amazon product ASIN B0B6J718YX
For 2000 watts you need about 1k so it’s expensive hair but happy wife = happy life. 😁

I only have a 1000w inverter so Lucy just uses her big hot air thing on medium and it stays under that. 👍

For a mains powered hot brush an inverter would be the cheapest and simplist way. It's not complicated to fit. Connect directly to leisure battery.

Amazon product ASIN B07G2C5Q4B
Alternatively, my wife has hair tongs which have an rechargeable battery in. You plug into usb to charge up then use. Might not be as powerful as mains ones but my wife makes do.

Amazon product ASIN B09369M3HT

the reality is that most power packs are actually made up of a lithium battery (though often different cells) an inverter and a battery charger .......

so would you be better off upgrading your on board electrics ??? there may be additional benefits (and costs) if you did so!

See I knew this was going to get complicated!
The things I do for an easy life.

I'm with Nanniemate here, go into an Antique Shop and purchase some old style Curling Tongs. stick them on the gas ring, problem solve!

Just remember to rap them in a wet cloth before using as the steam helps the hair curl (I'm sure that's what my elder sisters used to do? )

I have one, it’s useless !
No idea which model - but seemed to quite popular with my female colleagues - and get quite good Amazon reviews 🤷‍♂️
Given the price versus getting van lecky upgrade/power pack - I think I'd be tempted to buy a set from Amazon, tryout and return if no good.

Don't bring me I to this I just put in simple terms what it was.

If I was going to make a suggestion it would be change the hairstyle

This thread is beyond satire !

you dont need big expensive batteries to use an invertor just run the van for the 4 minutes hair session ,messing vans that are used by road and railway workers have water heaters and microwaves running via an invertor from a smallish leisure battery and stickers on each appliance say not to use when engine not running

Do road and railway workers need a Hotbrush….I’d have thought their hair would be a complete mess after 10 minutes of laying roads or railways anyway…

That used to be true, but in today's world..........................?

I would suggest towing a caravan for the hairdresser but I know good staff is difficult to find nowadays.

Adaption can save a lot of money 💰 why not go for a gas powered brush https://www.superdrug.com/electrica...-cordless-curling-gas-tong-and-brush/p/226277
