Power loss

What causes a loss of power with my Mercedes diesel motorhome when climbing gradients?

Dodgy air flow sensor, or a leaky hose I reckon.

Any dash warning lights ?

Year and engine would help

i would also go with hose leak (not water), possibly turbo pipe. Assuming it has a turbo.

Does it go in to limp home mode? Our Frankia based on a Sprinter 416CDI had the same problem. Assuming that it's not due to an air leak, we needed a new turbo, even with only 44,000 miles. The variable vanes were sticking, apparantly due to low mileage. My E220CDI went on to 342,000 miles on the original turbo; the car regularly travelled long journeys.
