Long time
We need a bigger inverter, ours is a 150W and won't charge the laptop!
The laptop is a MacBook Pro in case that makes any difference!
Has anyone out there have some info for me on the best-I haven't got a lot of money-inverter to get to do the job!?!?
Thought I would ask you lot as you always seem to come up with some info!

Is it a modified or pure sine wave inverter? My macbook air is only 45w so 150w should be enough for it (should be stamped on the plug) but only if it's pure sine wave I think.

Edited to add
Now not sure that it has to be pure sine wave, I always thought Macs were a bit more temperamental with regard to charging but having googled it maybe not.

The other thing I thought of is that if it's a 150w inverter I'm guessing it has a 12v plug as opposed to being wired to your battery? If this is the case it may be that the socket cannot provide the power required.

To cover most eventualities I ended up getting a 500w pure sine wave inverter to charge the laptop, elec toothbrushes and it can also run our mini twin tub if we take it, and wired it to the leisure battery.

This is the one that I got that is reasonably priced for a pure sine wave one.

Look for a "12V laptop power supply". Cheaper and better than an inverter.

12V------------>LaptopSupply--------------->Laptop

or

12V---------->INV240-------->LaptopPower------------>Laptop.

A 150 watt inverter is ample for charging a MacBook Pro. Have you got it hard wired to the batteries with adequate cable? If not the charging load from the MacBook is likely to cause voltage drop to the inverter, making it squeal.
Also, I would strongly recommend a PSW model, not a modified sine wave version.

I've fitted one of these £11-77 and it charges my Apple iPad Pro ok.

You need a special Apple inverter from a certified Apple dealer or direct from California in a white box with a grey apple logo on it to charge a macbook pro.

Its the iVert Pro model and it retails at £899.99.

For those still left with a tooth in their mouth I have been using this for the last month to charge our toothbrushes and is one less reason to use an inverter.
