Hi All,

Hope everyone is well and looking forward to being "released" sometime soon.

After changing our coachbuilt for a van conversion, we have now decided to go back. We are interested in a Hymer Exsis 698, we have left a returnable deposit till we can view it in the flesh but perhaps someone on the site can give us some pointers on this model, to look out for when we are able to travel to view.

It has a small garage with a low level queen size bed. The dealer states it has a double floor and is winterised, low mileage with the 150HP engine and manual box. 2013 year.

Thanks if anyone can help.

regards

Mike and Helen

Hi MickandHelen we had a 2015 Hymer Exsis I 698 4250kg it was a great van the main problem we found with it was that storage spaces inside are not that big I actually installed an extra pair of cupboards over the rear bed which helped, the 150 engine is really good we towed our car and trailer everywhere with it, it’s not a double floor but tanks are boxed and heated with blown air no problems in winter
We eventually upgraded to our B678DL which has a large garage and much more storage in it and we are very happy with it.
you won’t go far wrong with your purchase they are a nice van.😊

Like Alan we have gone from an Exsis to a B678DL, our Exsis was an i 678, 2013.

The Exsis only has a single floor although they are fully winterised.
We were well pleased with our one only changed because we got offered a silly deal on the new one.
If it is on the light chassis at 3500kg you will probably need to uprate to 3850 we did (Alan'swas on the 4250kg chassis) Also on the light chassis only has 2000kg rear axle which is a bit tight but can be uprated.

Thanks Alan and Lenny. Our last coachbuilt had the 150 engine and we used to tow a small car and were happy with the power. This van has been uprated to 3850, and it has no drop down bed at the front, there are factory fitted cupboards instead, so hopefully storage will not be a problem
The advert says double floor so thanks for the info there.
Will be glad when we can view!!!

Regards Mike
