Heading away this weekend and thought I'd email a couple of pubs to ask if it was ok to spend the night in there car park and have a few beers in their bar. Both emailed back with in a couple of hours saying no problem. One has even offered to cone off part of the car park to make sure there is space.

I do this regularly.

I use google streemap to check out pubs in the area to see which ones have a large car park at the back. I quick call to the pub or drop in if passing. I have never had a refusal.

I just make it clear that I will be gone early afternoon.

This is exactly what we have done in the past and this time and only ever been refused once as they had a large wedding and car park would be full.
