Evening all,
Is there an ideal position on a MH roof for solar panels? I am thinking from a wind noise/interference perspective.
I am adding two 100 watt panels to the existing one on my roof and they can only go on the right hand side of the roof.

The existing panel is the one in the middle and I have a choice of closer to the front, in the middle or to the rear for the new ones and have mocked them up in the attached pics.
Anyone have any guidance?
Thanks

Does depend how you are going to fix them on? On mine I glued and screwed. I lined the front edge up with either the front or back edge of the hatch. That’s because their is timber running across the roof at the front and back edge of the roof vent. Hence something solid to screw into. The frames are made around each of the openings In the roof and walls. Good luck

If it was mine ,I would line the front panel up with the heiki vent, just to keep it in the same line but also add another pair of side brackets such that the two panels are not sharing the same bracket
As long as they are well secured I don't think there would be an issue.
The existing panel is also a different rating from the number of segments compared to the new ones do best check how you wire them up ,parallel or in series.
On another thread there was also a question te the curing temp of sikaflex, so just be aware that it's best applied when it's a bit warmer or if you can ,indoors whilst we are having this frosty weather (y)

Thanks, planning to just glue them with sikaflex when the weather warms up a bit.

Thanks Jimbo. Another pair of side brackets is a good idea. I will be fitting when the weather warms up a bit. Just mocking up for the moment.
They are different makes but all 100w and the new renogy compacts chosen because they have almost identical volt and amp ratings to the existing Solar Technology panel. Going to connect in parallel as my MPPT (and DCDC combined) is max 25v PV input so series (which I would have preferred) is not possible.

Just make sure you abrade the area that the brackets sit on,mark them out with masking tape or similar and rough the area up. There is also sikaflex sealant also recommended to be applied before the actual sikaflex

Use black sikaflex, so it doesn't go mouldy green after a while ...

If I was using black framed panels and black brackets ,I would agree but white is easily cleaned when the roof is washed etc. (y)

totaly agree with method and use of white not black. Sika products specify the use of correct pretreatment or activator (sealant not quite correct terminology).
